They are both the same gender, but I don't think that we will find out what gender that is. The one embryo that didn't make it was missing a chromosome 16, so I don't think that it would have made it. However, they did say that they wouldn't implant any embryo that was missing chromosomes.
Genetically these guys or girls are good to go! There are no missing or additional chromosomes. What a relief! I'm feeling much more positive about this whole venture. This last week was pretty stressful with the waiting and wondering if we would have any viable embryos.
We are meeting with the doctor on Friday to go over the rest of the process, and I have to do three tests to make sure things look good for the implantation down the road. One is a doppler ultrasound to test bloodflow, the other is a practice implantation so they know exactly where to go and what to do, and the third is a scope of my uterus (which I've heard is extremely unpleasant). After that, we have to wait until my period starts again in a few weeks and then I'll do a couple weeks of birth control and then start taking more shots to get my lining ready for implantation. That won't happen until mid-June I think. More waiting for now!
