He's still not rolling over on his own, but we are practicing! When I roll him onto his tummy, he makes movements like he wants to crawl, so I think he needs to learn to go sideways before he goes forward.
This week is the first week that he's been interested in the dogs. He will follow them around with his eyes and smile. One morning, I held him in my lap, Chase came over and starting licking him and Hunter was laughing and reached out and touched Chase's ear and face. He stuck his hand in Jack's mouth, too. I was quick to pull him back. Neither of the dogs would hurt Hunter, but we don't need to start bad habits! It's cute to see them interact some more. Hopefully this will get everyone to get along!
Speaking of reaching out, he's been reaching a lot more to get things. He won't really reach if you leave a toy on the floor, but he'll reach to get a toy I have. He's also playing with his pacifier a lot. We'll put it in, and then he'll reach up and grab it and look at it or move it around. Sometimes he'll have a hold of the pacifier and then stick his fingers in his mouth instead. It's fun to see him touch things and learn.
We were all really ready for this to happen back in the beginning of September, but we held off since we were going to Ohio. Last weekend I had a lot of work to do and I was still exhausted from the trip, so we waited until this weekend. So wish me luck! I'm going to try the no cry sleep solution method....and basically I'm going to keep the same routine he has but instead of putting him into his rock n play, he will go into his crib. And then I'll wait for him to wake up and cry and I'll go in and soothe him. I'm ok with him crying a bit, but I just can't do the cry it out method, and I really feel like he gets so worked up that there's no way he could fall asleep. I'm hoping he has no problem, but I'm anxiously ready for a loooong night.
