I have to do two shots tonight at 10pm, one in my belly and one in my butt. Then tomorrow morning at 10am I have to do another shot, and then I'm done with shots for awhile!! Thank God! I'm over the shots. They are not fun. It's certainly manageable, but I'm over it. I have to take some pills in the next couple of days as well. The strangest instruction pre-surgery is to have a PB&J at bedtime tomorrow night. I guess that's so I don't starve to death since I can't eat or drink anything until the surgery is over.
Wednesday morning we check in at 9:30 and the surgery starts at 10am. It will only last about 20 minutes or so and then the rest of the time will be spent with me coming out from the anesthesia. They will let us know before we leave how many eggs they got, and then on Thursday we will hear how many eggs were fertilized.
We should get the genetic results on any embryos back in about 2 weeks, so we will have some good answers then!
Keep your fingers crossed that they get lots of eggs on Wednesday and that I feel ok. My ovaries are going to be huge, so it could be a painful, or at least very uncomfortable, recovery. I have a wedding cake that has to be baked, decorated and delivered the next few days after surgery, so I'm really hoping for the best as far as how I feel. No rest for the weary!
