It's been a roller coaster week this week. Last Friday I decided I would try eating dairy every day because I figured between getting nursed and eating bottles, he was getting a little bit of dairy every day. That lasted until about Wednesday when all hell broke loose. Poor little one.
Tuesday Kathleen thought he was fussy with stomach problems, but he did ok. Wednesday he threw up an entire bottle all over the both of them and then had a big poop, too. Wednesdsay night he went to my parent's house so Shamus and I could go to dinner, and he was really fussy and had a hard time eating his bottle. So Thursday I went off dairy again. Thursday he threw up half a bottle all over himself and Kathleen and then had an epic poop that.was.everywhere. She had to change her clothes and his clothes for the second time and informed me when I picked him up that he needed a bath. And boy did he! He had poop everywhere! She did her best to clean it up, but it was bad.
Thursday night he went to bed at 10 after eating for an hour, then woke up at 12:45 and wouldn't be calmed with the pacifier. So I had to get up with him and rocked him in the rocking chair until he fell back asleep. I put him back down at 1:15 and then he was back awake at 2:15 with the same thing. I fed him at 2:45 and then put him back to sleep about 3:30. He mostly slept until 7:10, fussed a few times, but I ignored him and he went back to sleep quickly. It was a pretty brutal night. I'm really hoping that he feels better today and tonight since it's day 2 with no dairy.
I guess the only way to see if he really is doing better is to try things like this and see how it goes. Clearly he's not over the reflux. Poor little monkey.
On Monday, we went over to my uncle's house for lunch and he started getting really tired and cranky, so I put him in the car and we left. The second my tires hit the street, he was out. However, it was only 15 minutes to get back home and I knew he would wake up the second I pulled into the driveway. So I spent an hour driving around so that he would sleep. It was actually pretty relaxing to just drive with the music on low and no where to be. Sure enough when I pulled in the driveway, he woke up. Stinker.
