I've been feeling pretty good, but the exhaustion is starting to creep back in. Pretty much after lunch everyday I want to lay down and do nothing else for the rest of the day. I wish my schedule permitted that. I also start getting heartburn after lunch, too, regardless of what I eat. So that's super fun. This week and next week especially are pretty busy with the Super Bowl and then Valentine's Day, but I'm going to try to take less orders after that. It's a total catch 22 though. Fewer orders means less work (yay!) but it means less money (boo!). And since I'll be closing the bakery for about 2 months, I think I need to work as much as I can now, within reason.
My dad and I were comparing our sleep via the FitBit the other day, and the last time that I slept through the night without being super restless and waking up was December 8th. I think that's it for awhile. As I was wide awake from 4:30-5:30 yesterday morning, I was thinking about that and how it's certainly not going to get better. I won't suddenly sleep through the night when the baby is born. So I'm going to try to be grateful that even though I'm restless and fairly uncomfortable, at least I'm still getting 8-9 hours.
The baby is sitting super low in my belly, and there are times I feel like it's right against my skin. Obviously there are a few more layers in there, but it's even more obvious to me in the evening, after gravity has played a role all day. Usually early in the morning and sometimes at night, it feels like the baby is training for some MMA cage fighting in there. It makes these huge moves, and I can feel it move across my whole belly. It's pretty crazy.
On Sunday I went and got a massage! I had to carry a really heavy wedding cake a pretty far distance on Saturday afternoon, and it killed my back. The lady giving me the massage was telling me about one of her other pregnant clients whose birth plan is to have a squat birth. Which is, unfortunately, like it sounds. You squat to push the baby out. Apparently she has been doing a lot of squats every day to try to prepare for this. I just laughed. My birth plan is to have a baby, but I definitely won't be squatting to do it. There's.no.way. A few weeks ago I was watching Alaska: The Last Frontier on Discovery Channel, and one of the girls had a baby at 3pm in the hospital and then went home later that evening. Holy jamoly.
Total Weight Gained: 14.5 lbs
Waist Size: 42 inches
Sleep: Not great, but I do think the pillow is helping. Even if it is like wrestling an alligator when I have to flip over.
Most Exciting Moment: Loved that massage, even though she destroyed my shoulders.
Baby is the Size of a: Cucumber. 15 inches long and over 2 pounds. It might even recognize my voice now!
Miss Anything? Wine and bloody Mary's. I realize I could easily have a virgin BM, but that seems like a waste. Oh--I ate a steak over the weekend too. I haven't had that since August. Pretty good!
