I waited to post this week since we got to see the baby yesterday. The heartbeat went down to 170 (they said it would), and the baby was moving like crazy. We didn't get to see anything super new and exciting because it wouldn't stay still for a picture <--welcome to life with a baby, I'm sure! Last time we were all yay! fingers, Yay! arm nubs, Yay! brain. This time was harder just getting a glimpse..hence the not so exciting ultrasound picture.
Sunday is my last day of estrogen pills and progesterone shots!!! I'm so excited about that! However, I did get a call today about the blood thinner shot, and my levels rose so I have to keep taking that until I give birth. While it sucks, I am more than happy to do it if it will keep this baby. I was actually a little nervous about the prospect of going off of it so now I don't have to worry about that. One of the nice things about my belly getting a little bigger and firmer, especially at night, is that when I look down, I don't really see my bruises. Conceptions also wants me to start seeing a hematologist, so I have to call and schedule an appointment with them.
Wednesday we go in for another ultrasound where they do a nuchal scan. They measure the distance between the spine and the neck (I think). If the distance is greater than .4, then they run a DNA test on the baby to see if there are any genetic defects. I thought we were in the clear with this since we did genetic testing on the embryos, but apparently that was only 98% accurate. So there is a still a chance of a chromosomal abnormality. We are hoping and praying that they don't see anything on the ultrasound Wednesday.
Other fun facts: the baby is the size of a lime and is growing hair follicles and fingernails.
Monday and Tuesday I was feeling more energetic, but today I feel pretty tired. I think it's always going to be the case that the end of the week will get me. Fridays are always one of the toughest days at the bakery trying to get everything ready to go out the door. Other than that, still no real symptoms. We will see if there are any changes with me going off the hormone supplements. Hopefully I'll get some more energy!
