I really tried to keep things simple and low key. The theme was he's one, and I wanted it centered around him. Duh. I did blues and gold for the colors, and I printed out a lot of pictures of the birthday boy. We had the party at 10am, so everyone got second breakfast, which is the best. There was fruit, bacon, biscuits and gravy, scones, coffee cake, muffins, and cake of course. I had a lot of fun with Hunter's cake. I knew I wanted there to be a crown on it since I was going to have him wear one, too. And I stuck with stripes and dots for the cake.
We had a good amount of people here, which was amazing. Hunter was a little overwhelmed by all the people, but he had a good time. Everyone was great about playing with him. When it came time to do the cake, he was not quite sure what was going on. He didn't really like the crown on his head, but he did like people singing to him. When I put the cake in front of him, he put his hand in it right away and grabbed a gold dot. Then he stuck that in his mouth and promptly spit it out. He didn't really like any of it after that. I tried to feed him a little bite of cake, but he did not want it. So we took the cake away, wiped off his hands, and then off he went!
