This week seemed extra long because Hunter went to daycare on Monday and Tuesday while I worked, and then Nana and Papa arrived on Wednesday. He stayed home with them while I continued to work. Ha. We did a lot of party prep, and got everything ready to go for the big day. On Wednesday, Hunter went on a couple of walks with them, and on Thursday, Nana and I took him to the library to play with their toys. It's fairly impossible to let him play with other toys because all he wants is to put them in his mouth. Yuck. So we were on a constant guard with that. But he had fun playing with the "new" toys.
Sunday was my last day of nursing Hunter and pumping. It was sad for me, but he could have cared less. And the rest of the week he was fine. He didn't really need the nursing in the morning anyway since he eats breakfast right after, so it was no big deal.
At one year, Hunter is cruising along all of the furniture and pulling up on everything. He loves to crawl over to me and then pull up on my pants until I pick him up. He's no longer army crawling, and he's really fast when he does the regular crawl. He mostly takes two naps unless he sleeps really long for the first nap. By 10am, he's wiped out and ready for a bottle and nap. He's eating breakfast, lunch, and dinner, and then he gets a bottle of breast milk at 10 and 2. I'm done with nursing and pumping, but I had enough frozen milk to last him for a couple of weeks. Soon I'll be mixing cow's milk into his breast milk until he gets used to it and is switched over.
Hunter goes to the doctor on Monday for his checkup and shots (I think). I'll be interested to see if we should wean him off of the baby food, too. It's tough because he likes it and eats it, but I'm not sure if we're still supposed to be giving it to him. We've tried a few different meats with him and he wants nothing to do with them. So at least he'll eat them pureed. Gross.
He also is loving fruit right now. Most fruits he will gobble right up! No sugar yet, but we will see how he does with his birthday cake on Saturday!
Such a happy baby most of the time!!
