Hunter loves clapping. If he's happy that he did something, he'll clap. If he hears music, he will clap, and one night he even started clapping while he was nursing. Weirdo. Speaking of nursing, he's so done with it. Almost all week he wants nothing to do with nursing or getting a bottle before bed. I think you're supposed to stop the before bed bottle when they're one, so we are ahead on that. I was planning on nursing him a little longer, but when I stop the morning nursing and pumping on Sunday, we will be done. When I get him ready to nurse, he just starts crying like I'm the meanest mom in the whole world. It's super fun. So I walk him upstairs, put him in his crib, and he is out like a light.
Shamus and I both noticed that starting Monday, we are in an entirely different ball field. This kid is always on the move. It's exhausting! I can't even imagine what it's going to be like when he starts walking soon, which we think will happen within the next few weeks. He is just having so much fun. One of his new favorite games is to sit and play with Daddy's shoes. This also involves putting a ball into his boot and taking it back out, over and over. We actually like this game because we can sit and chill. He's super content to sit and play by himself. Hooray!
We are gearing up for his birthday. We are going out on Saturday to buy him a new car seat that stays in the car, and we're going to get some of the party decorations and food. It's a 10am party, so we are doing breakfast-y foods plus cake. I'm trying to keep it simple but fun. I've started working on the cake decorations, and I'm excited about his cake. I hope it turns out like I'm thinking in my head!
