We finally slept upstairs the last two nights! I was in my bed(!!!), and Hunter stayed in his rock and play all night. He does a feeding around 11 and then can usually sleep until about 3:30. Then he sleeps until about 5:30 or 6, when I feed him again, and then we sleep until 8 or so. Overall, while I really miss uninterrupted sleep, I'll totally take this schedule. Especially sleeping in my own bed. We'll see how things go tonight since Shamus has to go to work in the morning. Fingers crossed.
I called the doctor last Monday, and she told me to nurse him for ten minutes on each side and that should be good. So I've been doing that and then giving him a bottle because he's still starving. I've noticed that he eats less at night than in the day, which is good. He's growing like a weed, so I guess as long as that's happening, we are good. And this kid certainly is peeing and pooping like crazy, so that's a good sign. He really seems to enjoy pooping while his diaper is being changed (thankfully that happens most when Shamus is changing him). Ha! He still falls asleep a lot when he nurses unless he's really hungry, so the bottle seems to be the way to go to actually get a lot of food into him. He also seems to be not throwing up as much, too. Yay! I think it's going to be an ongoing learning process.
As far as my recovery is going, things are pretty good. I definitely still have a pooch belly, but I'm really not concerned about it. I'm proud of what my body did, especially because we weren't sure it could happen. My belly is still bruised from the shots. I'm not sure how long those bruises will last...I haven't given myself one in a month, so hopefully they'll go away. I'm about 9 pounds away from my pre-pregnancy weight, but I'm not doing anything about it. I'm taking it easy and doing what my body wants!
