There's really nothing worse than watching him throw up milk all over himself. It comes out his nose and the look on his face is terror/confusion/general yuckiness. I feel really bad for him, the person who is holding him when he does it, and me for all the wasted work with pumping and/or feeding the milk. I need help, and I need someone who can be realistic about his size and needs. Not just someone who will say breast is best and this is what works for other babies so this is what you need to do for him. That's also my goal for next week--find help.
He lost his umbilical cord on Saturday (yay!). That made diaper changes much easier. And we decided that his circumcision looked pretty well healed by Thursday so no more applying Vaseline on his penis every time we change him. Diaper changes are much easier and faster now. I'm really happy that everything is going better with that. Since he lost the umbilical cord on Saturday, we started tummy time on Sunday. This involves lying a blanket on the carpet and then putting him on his belly and waiting for him to a. lift his head (ideal) or b. scream bloody murder (not ideal). So far he's done more lifting than screaming, so that's nice. Hopefully he won't be so floppy for much longer.
Speaking of parenting, we did celebrate my first Mother's Day last Sunday, which seems like forever ago. It was pretty relaxed. Shamus got me a gift card for a massage, and the family came over for a BBQ. Hunter only peed on me a couple of times, so all in all, it was a good day. I still stare at him in amazement that he's mine! One fun thing I like to do to amuse myself is to take consecutive pictures of him while he's on the changing table upstairs. For whatever reason, he sneezes a lot when he's on it, and it's fun to catch him mid-sneeze. This was a fun group of pictures from the other day.
