Saturday night, he did really good in his crib. He went down around 7 (thankfully), was back awake at 8:50 and I fed him, and then I put him down again around 9:45. He slept all night! He woke up once at 2am, and he cried out for a bit, but I stayed in my bed to see if he would get himself back to sleep and he did. I went in again at 6:30, put the pacifier in, and he slept until 7:30. Hooray! It's really funny to have him in the crib though because he makes full circles. The first night, I put him down with his head facing one way, and when I picked him up, he was facing the other way. Saturday night, he turned 270 degrees. Kids are crazy!
No luck with crib naps...even when we left him in his crib for an hour. It's so brutal. I think we will keep trying but if he never does it, eventually I'll have to give up. I just can't torture both of us. It's so hard because naps are so important for his development, but I also know a lot of smart kids out there who didn't nap as babies. So eventually I'm going to have to stop beating myself up about it.
I think this one is definitely going through a growth spurt. On Wednesday and Thursday night he woke up in the middle of the night wanting to eat. It's been a really long time since I've had to feed him in the middle of the night. It definitely affects my milk supply in the morning, but he needs what he needs. It is sort of sweet to get to cuddle extra with him, even if I'm more tired. I know this little phase won't last long and he will be back to sleeping through the night. On Thursday night, Hunter spent all night on his belly, and I spent most of the night worried that he would suffocate. I know that he won't, but I definitely was checking on him more often.

He's still eating cereal, and I switched him to rice cereal that is flavored with apples and bananas. He seems to like it a little more since it has flavor, but I still can't mix it with formula. This kid is something else. I know I'm going to get paid back for my picky eating. We go to the doctor on Monday for his 6-month checkup, and I will ask her about switching to baby food. I'm toying with the idea of making my own. I think it won't be too hard since I have a food processor. We will see what happens.
You should see this kid's closet. Holy moly. He has more clothes than Shamus and I put together. It's so hard right now because we are between seasons and he's between a bunch of sizes. Although I think with this growth spurt, he will be growing out of a lot of his 3-9 month onesies.
We're getting into the phase of him playing with toys by banging them up and down and then crying when he a. hits himself in the head or b. lets go and the toys fly out of his reach. It's a fun phase.
I've been looking into some fun craft projects for the holidays with Hunter, and I'm excited about what I've found! I never thought I'd be so crafty with him, but it's just so hard not to be! He's so cute!
