Overall Hunter loves to sleep. That's what he does the most and isn't awake all that often. We feed him every two hours or so, and we're still breastfeeding for about 10 minutes and then he gets a bottle. The doctor is hoping that as he gets bigger, he'll breastfeed for longer times and we can wean him off the bottle. Bottles are pretty convenient, but I think if he got better at breastfeeding, it would win on the convenience factor.
He still screams like I'm waterboarding him when we change his diaper or his clothes. He pees out of his diaper pretty often, so it seems that we are always changing his clothes. Good thing we have some very generous friends and family so this child has more than enough clothes to wear now. It was pretty slim pickins for awhile. We also seem to change our clothes a lot because he often pees on us. Good times had by all.
Hunter is sleeping a little better every night, and things seem to get a little easier every day. I still sleep with him downstairs, but he is sleeping in his rock and play for a good portion of the night now. I sleep on the couch with him. Then about 3-4am, I will sleep in the recliner with him on my chest until the morning. Otherwise he starts wanting to get up every hour and mama needs sleep!
Hunter and I managed our first outing on Wednesday. We went to Walgreens and to Gordmans, and he slept through the whole thing. It was a nice trip out with just the two of us, and there were no tears from either of us. Success! Then on Thursday, we drove to the airport to pick up Shamus' parents, Nana and Papa. I love seeing the grandparents snuggle with him. I still can't believe this is my son! Love him so!
