Sleep this week has been really good! Pretty much every night has been a five hour stretch. I switched him on Tuesday night to a normal sleep sack instead of the swaddle sleep sack, and he's been great with it. The swaddle sack was great because it kept him from startling himself awake; however, if he tried to move around then it would start creeping over his face. So I was getting nervous that it would cover up his airway. Definitely time to switch that bad boy. So now he sleeps in his jammies and the regular sleep sack, and he's been doing really good. Whatever the reason for the more restful sleep, I'll take it!
We set up the high chair this week so that 1. he can get used to it and 2. he can "sit" with us when we eat dinner. It would be nice for Shamus and I to eat dinner together so hopefully he'll get used to sitting there and be content. First night not so much, but he did better with it the second night and we made it through dinner. It's fun to talk with him too.
Hunter has been a hungry little monster lately. He's been wanting 6 ounces during his bottle feedings instead of 4 ounces. I'm hoping it's just a growth spurt and not the new normal. I'm a little worried that I won't be able to keep up with the pumping volume. We shall see!
Now that I'm back at work, that means that I'm working on Saturdays, so Shamus and Hunter get to hang out. Saturday was the first day that they've ventured out on their own, and it went well! I remember my first outing alone with him, and it's definitely a little intimidating thinking about the what ifs! So I'm glad that it went smoothly. He also went over to Grandma and Grandpa's house on Sunday for a few hours so Shamus and I could have some adult time rafting around at Chatfield. It was a much needed break for the two of us to have some alone time!
